General Responsibilities
The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for:
- Preparing the monthly consolidated financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow for the Company.
- Preparing the analysis of monthly financial statements compared to budget and prior year results.
- Researching the appropriate accounting standards, GAAP and IFRS, when necessary to assure that financial reporting is in compliance.
Specific Duties
- Communicate and coordinate the monthly closing process and publish an annual calendar.
- Maintain the financial reporting data base starting with financial results from the SAP system and including monthly journal entries.
- Prepare and publish the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow monthly.
- Prepare the monthly journal entries and related documentation necessary to produce accurate financial statements.
- Review and analyze the financial statements and prepare a report supporting the analysis.
- Assist in reviewing the SAP system reports for accuracy and integrity.
- Publish the detailed monthly reporting package to the management team.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and assist the auditors in completing the audit by preparing work papers, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly profit forecast report.
- Assist the cost accounting group in developing costing standards for use in the SAP system.
- Other projects as may be determined by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- CPA with an undergraduate accounting degree.
- Four to Eight years total accounting related experience with at least two years preparing consolidated financial statements for a public company with over $500 million in annual revenues.
- Good working knowledge of GAAP.
- Able to speak Spanish at an intermediate or higher level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP system or equivalent, a plus.
- Public accounting experience a plus.
